| Krajicek announced his retirement from tennis Thursday, June 19, saying that continuing pain in his right elbow had made it impossible for him to compete at the highest level. He withdrew from The Wimbledon Championships hours after the draw, citing a right elbow injury. He had pulled out of the French Open for the same reason.
