Federer & Co. give Swiss spot in next year's Davis Cup World Group

LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka have given Switzerland a spot in next year's elite Davis Cup World Group.

They defeated Belgium's Xavier Malisse and Olivier Rochus 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3, 6-3 Saturday in doubles for an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the best-of-5 playoff series.

They also paired to win doubles at the Beijing Olympics.

Federer beat Kristof Vliegen in straight sets in Friday's singles, while Wawrinka stopped Steve Darcisg. The reverse singles are set for Sunday.
