Medina Garrigues, Kleybanova among last four in Morocco

FEZ, Morocco -- Top-seeded Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain and No. 2 Alisa Kleybanova of Russia advanced to the semifinals of the Grand Prix SAR in straight sets Thursday.

Medina Garrigues beat Lourdes Dominguez Lino 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) in an all-Spanish match, while Kleybanova defeated Polona Hercog of Slovenia 6-3, 6-4.

Medina Garrigues, who lost to Gisela Dulko in last year's final, won on her second match point. She next faces Melinda Czink of Hungary, who beat Czech player Lucie Hradecka 6-4, 6-2.

Kleybanova broke Hercog once in each set and saved the only break point she faced in the second. She next faces sixth-seeded Ekaterina Makarova of Russia, who beat Marta Domachowska of Poland 6-4, 6-4.
