Spanish govt. may sue French TV for doping skit
MADRID (AP) -Spain's most senior sport minister says the government is examining whether to follow the country's tennis federation example by taking legal action against a French TV station that poked fun at the country's alleged ties to doping.
Jose Ignacio Wert, the minister for Education, Culture and Sport, calls Canal Plus' satirical take that Spanish athletes "don't win by chance" both "intolerable" and "unsportsmanlike."
Spain's tennis federation said Wednesday it would sue Canal Plus for using its logo in a video that poked fun at Rafael Nadal, and the country's cycling federation has followed suit.
Les Guignols (The Puppets) satirical program has taken aim at Alberto Contador, Nadal and Spain's World Cup-winning football team.
