Peng, Kanepi in Brussels Open final

BRUSSELS (AP) - Peng Shuai of China will face Kaia Kanepi of Estonia in the final of the Brussels Open.

Eighth-seeded Peng defeated Romina Oprandi of Switzerland 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the semifinal on Saturday. Kanepi moved into the final by edging Jamie Hampton of the United States, 7-6 (6), 6-4.

The players were given a few hours rest before their final later Saturday.

Peng, ranked 34th, reached the final in 2011. The 40th-ranked Kanepi reached the semifinals in Brussels last year.

All week, the tournament has been affected by rain, hail, cold and wind, forcing the semifinals and final to be played on the same day, this time under sunny skies.

On Thursday, Peng defeated 17th-ranked Sloane Stephens of the United States 6-2, 6-3.
