Haehnel wins first title in all-French Open de Moselle final

METZ, France -- Jerome Haehnel won his first ATP championship Sunday, beating Richard Gasquet 7-6 (11-9), 6-4 in an all-French final at the Open de Moselle.

Haehnel, ranked 185th, upset Andre Agassi in the first round of this year's French Open. He entered the tournament in Metz as a qualifier and improved to 6-2 this year.

Haehnel, like Gasquet, was appearing in his first final. He enjoyed his biggest payday, earning $64,000. That total was more than he made all season before the tournament. Gasquet won close to $38,000.
