No. 9 seed Hantuchova loses to qualifier Savchuk in Antwerp

ANTWERP, Belgium -- Qualifier Olga Savchuk of Ukraine upset ninth-seeded Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia 6-4, 6-3 to move into the quarterfinals of the Diamond Games on Thursday.

Also, fifth-seeded Elena Dementieva of Russia downed Poland's Marta Domachowska 6-3, 7-6.

Defending champion and second-seeded Amelie Mauresmo plays Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic later Thursday.

If Mauresmo can win the event twice more in the next five years she will own a $1.2 million, gem-encrusted racket.

Top-ranked Kim Clijsters, who beat Tatiana Golovin on Wednesday in her comeback match after she retired in the Australian Open semifinals with an ankle injury, faces Dinara Safina in the quarters.
