Detroit Lions' safety Amari Spievey was arrested on Tuesday in Connecticut after allegedly engaging in an altercation with his girlfriend over child support. Spievey, a fourth-year veteran, signed a one-year deal to remain with the Lions at the start of free agency. The former Iowa safety appeared in only five games in 2012 after suffering a concussion in late-October against the Bears.
There's a lot on the line when the Lions face the Falcons on Saturday night at Ford Field. Detroit is playing for pride, and to prove that Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Cardinals wasn't an accurate representation of its talent.
