A shocking loss to Vanderbilt on Friday night in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals may have cost Kentucky a spot in the NCAA tournament. The Wildcats have only missed the tournament once over the last two decades. For the Commodores, the upset victory leaves Kevin Stallings' young team two wins away from improbable back-to-back SEC Tournament titles.
Vanderbilt looked like one of the youngest, most inexperienced squads in the nation in mid-January during a 56-33 defeat to Arkansas. On Thursday, the Commodores showed that they might be the most improved. Vandy handled the Razorbacks' vaunted press and was scorching hot from beyond-the-arc in a 75-72 win. The Commodores will need more of the same to defeat Kentucky on Friday.
