Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins reportedly has his sights set on playing for a contender in 2013. After meeting with the Giants on Friday, Jenkins is scheduled to meet with the Seahawks and 49ers next week, according to ESPN. Jenkins was released by the Eagles on Feb. 25.
A one-year deal the New York Giants reached with Shaun Rogers this week won't cost the cap-strapped team much if the veteran defensive tackle suffers a season-ending injury early in the season. Rogers' $1.005 million contract will be reduced by more than half if he is placed on IR, the Newark Star-Ledger reported.
Around half of the Giants' 2012 roster has a realistic chance of moving on this offseason. General manager Jerry Reese was asked on Monday if he'd put the number around 23 players in total. "It's a pretty big number, but nothing we can't handle," Reese said.
