JaMarcus Russell has spent the last few weeks shaving pounds and trying to catch the eye of several NFL teams. On Tuesday, his trainer and former NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Jeff Garcia laid out the best-case scenario.
JaMarcus Russell continues to train in his unlikely bid to return to the NFL, but he won't be having a pro day this week as originally planned. Now the 2007 No. 1 overall pick wants to work out for teams individually.
JaMarcus Russell says he began his comeback attempt at 315 pounds and is down to 288, with 270 the goal. He is tentatively scheduled to hold a pro day in one week.
Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald will be catching passes from JaMarcus Russell at Russell's pro day on April 10, according to a report.
