Today, more than one million Special Olympics athletes in 145 countries experience the thrill, and the joy, of sports competition and training. From the Chinese mainland to the streets of Los Angeles; in the Amazonian forests of Ecuador and in South African villages, Special Olympics athletes are running, skiing, sailing, swimming and proving to the world what can be achieved when the human spirit is inspired and released for action.
