The soft sounds

of the steel drums will be interrupted with the clanking sounds of the steel weights in the weight lifting competition, the splashing sounds from the swimming and kayaking competitions, as well as all other sounds of competition when CBS Sports broadcasts THE MET-Rx SUPERSTARS on CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR from the Half Moon Golf, Tennis and Beach Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Saturday, May 4 (4:00-5:00 p.m., ET) and Sunday, May 5 (5:00-6:00 p.m., ET, taped 4/4-7).

WCBS-TV (New York) sports anchor Brett Haber will be manning the Fidelity Investments CBS SportsDesk on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 during CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR's broadcast of THE MET-Rx SUPERSTARS competition (4:00-5:00 p.m., ET and 5:00-6:00 p.m., ET, respectively). Haber, who joined WCBS-TV in October 2000, has contributed the past two years as reporter for CBS Sports' coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.

CBS Sports' broadcast of THE MET-Rx SUPERSTARS continues the exciting tradition that pioneered the "made-for-TV sports" competitions with the original "Superstars" shows in the 1970s and 1980s by bringing together some of the best athletes and biggest names in their respective sports.

Jim Shea, who won the gold medal is Salt Lake City in the skeleton competition, Bode Miller, who captured silver in the men's combined and giant slalom in Salt Lake, and Jonny Moseley, who struck gold in 1998 in Nagano, Japan in the moguls freestyle skiing competition will compete against six NFL stars and a former boxing champion. Among the NFL stars competing are New York Jets running back Curtis Martin, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia, Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington, Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez and New England Patriots wide receiver Troy Brown. Former WBC Welterweight champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley rounds out the Superstars field.

The competition consists of 10 events: kayaking; swimming; basketball shoot-out; weightlifting; cycling; half-mile run; climbing wall, Sea-Doo racing; 100-yard dash and The Superstars signature event, the obstacle course. Each athlete has to compete in seven. Points will be awarded by finishing first through fifth in each of the events (1st - 10; 2nd - 7; 3rd - 4; 4th - 2; 5th - 1). The athlete with the best combined score is the champion. More than $150,000 will be awarded to the competitors.

Gus Johnson, Marcus Allen and Lesley Visser cover the event for CBS Sports. Harold Bryant is the coordinating producer. Terry Ewert is Executive Producer, CBS Sports.

THE MET-Rx SUPERSTARS is staged and produced by Trans World International (TWI), the television division of International Management Group (IMG).
