| Michigan Speedway is a 2-mile banked asphalt oval with 18-degree banking in all four turns. The length of the frontstretch measures 3,600 feet and the length of the backstretch measures 2,242 feet. Michigan Speedway has hosted the Kmart 400 since 1969. |

- Cale Yarborough won $17,650 in the inaugural NASCAR Winston Cup Series event in 1969. This week the winner will win in excess of $100,000 and every starter in the race will win a minimum of $21,000.
