Scoring marks

  • Magical 100: Chamberlain is the only player to hit the century mark in a single game. He also scored the second-most points in one game (78) and had two more of 73 points, giving him four of the five highest-scoring games in NBA history. David Thompson also scored 73.
  • Led the league in scoring seven consecutive seasons (1959-66), tying Michael Jordan (1986-93).
  • He holds the mark for the highest ppg average for a season (50.4 in 1961-62)
  • Second-leading scorer in NBA history (31,419 behind Kareem Abdul Jabbar's 38,387)
  • Scored the most points in a season (4,029 in 1961-62).

King of the boards

  • Career rebounding leader with 23,924 (next is Bill Russell's 21,620).
  • Averaged an astounding 22.9 rebounds for his career.
  • Holds the single-game record with 55 rebounds.
  • Led the league in rebounding a record 11 seasons (next is Dennis Rodman with seven).

  • Member of the Basketball Hall of Fame (1978)
  • Named one of the NBA's 50 greatest players (1996)
  • NBA MVP four times (1960, 1966, 1967, 1968)
  • NBA rookie of year (1960)
