Sean Stein completed 21 of 29 passes for a season-high 300 yards and New Mexico converted on four fourth-down situations to upset the Falcons (6-5, 2-5 MWC). New Mexico (4-7, 3-4) emptied its game book in rallying from a 21-7 first-half deficit. New Mexico, which had scored just 17 total points in the third quarter this season, took over the game by scoring three straight touchdowns in the quarter.
Colorado St. 35, UNLV 17
Kevin McDougal ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns to lead Colorado State to earning a share of the Mountain West Conference title. The Rams (8-3, 5-2) joins Utah and Brigham Young as co-champions of the conference. UNLV (3-8, 1-6) ended the season with a five-game losing streak. They have lost 12 consecutive home games, dating back to the 1997 season.
San Diego St 39, Wyoming 7
Jack Hawley threw for 232 yards and tied a career high with three touchdown passes as San Diego State snapped a three-game home losing streak and prevented Wyoming from gaining a share of the Mountain West Conference championship. Hawley, a junior college transfer, completed 13-of-23 passes and guided the Aztecs (5-6, 2-5 MWC) to their third win in five games. Hawley had two scoring passes in the first half, including a 36-yarder to Derrick Lewis 79 seconds into the contest. Lewis finished with four catches for 105 yards. Jonas Lewis had 131 yards on 22 carries for San Diego State.
