SportsLine.com looks at the players who turned in the top individual performances in Sunday night's action.

Doug Weight, C, Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers returned home from Dallas with their heads between their collective tails, facing a must-win situation in Game 3. Edmonton failed to produce anything resembling an offense in the first two games of the series, but with Doug Weight spearheading their top line, the Oilers got untracked and went on to a 5-2 victory to cut Dallas' series lead to 2-1. Weight scored three goals, two in the first period, and had more than 23 minutes of ice time. He killed penalties, played on the power play, and won nine faceoffs as he helped his team gain new life against the defending Stanley Cup champions.

Scott Niedermayer, D, New Jersey Devils

Think Scott Niedermayer had a little bit of extra jump in his step against the Florida Panthers on Sunday night? He certainly looked like it less than a minute into the second period of Game 2, which the New Jersey Devils won 2-1. Niedermayer, returning to action after serving a 10-game suspension for a stick attack on Florida's Peter Worrell, out-skated four Florida players to get to a rebound from John Madden's shot and tie the game at 0:56 of the second period. The Panthers had a two-man advantage at the time, and never recovered from that emotional letdown.

Keith Primeau, C, Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers had the Buffalo Sabres down 2-0 heading into the third game of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals and Keith Primeau's play Sunday night has basically put the defending conference champions out. Primeau set up what proved to the game-winning goal when John LeClair scored in the first period, but he led the Flyers with much more than showed on the scoreboard. Primeau was the dominant player on the ice, forechecking tenaciously for Philadelphia all night and getting back into the play whenever the bottled-up Sabres did manage to break out. Primeau also won an incredible 19 faceoffs during the game, many of them in key situations during the close third period.
