High Sticking
Back to glossary
| A high-sticking penalty is called when a player has his stick above his shoulder and makes contact with an opponent. A two-minute minor is assessed for this infraction. If a player injures another player with an accidental or careless high stick, he is given a double-minor penalty. If a player attempts to injure or deliberately injure an opponent, he is given a match penalty which causes him to be suspended for the remainder of the game. His team plays shorthanded for five minutes as a result. |
