Vezina Trophy
The Vezina Trophy is awarded annually to "the goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at his position" as voted by League general managers. Voting takes place after the end of the regular season and before the beginning of the playoffs.

Dominik Hasek, Sabres
: He has now won the award six times in the last eight years. Hasek was the league's top goalie by posting a 37-24-4 record, 2.11 GAA, .921 save percentage and 11 shutouts
in 67 games. He led all goaltenders in shutouts, and was tied for third in victories, for fourth in
GAA and save percentage.

Martin Brodeur, Devils: Brodeur earned his third nomination as a Vezina finalist after posting a 42-17-11 record, 2.32 GAA, .906 save percentage and nine
shutouts in 72 games. He led all goaltenders in victories and tied for third in shutouts.

Roman Cechmanek, Flyers: A 29-year-old rookie who had never played in North America, he stole the No. 1 job and kept the Flyers alive through several injuries to key players. He posted 35-15-6 record, 2.01 GAA, .921 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 59 games and was among the top five goalies in save percentage, goals-against average and shutouts. |
