DRIVERS TO WATCH

Johnny Benson -- One of the more consistent drivers after 13 races with seven top-10 finishes; best finish was third in Texas; stands fourth in the Winston Cup points; continues to search for his first career Winston Cup victory.

Jeff Burton -- Snapped out of a season-long slump to give Roush Racing its first victory of the year at the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday; took the lead from Kevin Harvick on lap 337 when he elected to stay on track; it was only his second top five of the year.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. -- Rounded out the top 10 in this race last year; finished in the top-eight in five of the last seven races, including The Winston; steady in 10th place of the standings the past four races.

Bill Elliott -- Along with Ricky Rudd, they have the most wins at Dover among active drivers with four each; Elliott's most recent victory was in 1990; only top five of the year was fifth in the season-opener Daytona 500.

Jeff Gordon -- Three-time winner at Dover from fall of 1995 to both races in 1996; won in Las Vegas, The Winston and also finished second three times this year; currently second in the Winston Cup, 75 points behind Dale Jarrett; has been in this position since the Food City 500 at Bristol, Tennessee.

Dale Jarrett -- Also a good performer at Dover Downs Speedway; won race in 1998, was fourth last year and fifth in 1999; points leader after 13 races with three victories and eight top-10s.

Matt Kenseth -- Last year he followed up his first career Winston Cup win at the Coca-Cola 600 with an impressive second place in this race; not the best of seasons, with only two top-10s; best effort was sixth in the Virginia 500.

Bobby Labonte -- After slow start early in the year, he started to pick up the pace in the last six races improving to a season-best 12th place in the standings; finished a strong fifth in the Coca-Cola 600 Sunday night; winner of the MBNA Platinum in 1999 from the pole.

Ricky Rudd -- One of several good performers at Dover Downs International Speedway over the years; winner in 1986, 1987, 1992 and 1997; last year he was again in contention, but finished fifth as the last car on the lead lap; improved that run with a third in the MBNA.com 400 in September.

Tony Stewart -- Competed in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 after a 90-minute fly to Charlotte; finished third at Lowe's Motor Speedway and was sixth at Indy to better his marks of the 1999 double duty (9th Indy, fourth Charlotte); started the Coca-Cola 600 from the rear of the field after missing the mandatory drivers' meeting; by way of his performance in the Coca-Cola 600, he is just 149 points behind leader Dale Jarrett; the next two races, including this one, Stewart won last year; for every mile completed he raised $240,000 for a children's charity "Victory Junction Gang Camp"; after a slow start to the season, he has put together excellent runs in the last seven races, all in the top seven; moved up to sixth in the standings and comes to Dover as the defending champion of the MBNA Platinum 400 -- swept both events at Dover Downs last year.

Rusty Wallace -- A better driver at this track in the fall races; won events in the fall in 1993 and 1994 and also the spring race in 1994; last year he was 14th in the spring and up to eighth in the fall; recorded six top-10 finishes this year, including career win 54, tying Lee Petty for seventh on the all-time list; third place in the Winston Cup standings, only three points behind Jeff Gordon and 78 back of Dale Jarrett.
