As if the SEC isn't strong enough, the league will be fortified this season with several returning stars who are ready to let out more than a little aggression after having their 2000 season wrecked because of injury.
You remember Eddie Strong, don't you? Cedric Cobbs? Kindal Moorehead? Georgia linebacker Boss Bailey's season lasted all of, oh, about five seconds -- just long enough to suffer a season-ending injury on the opening kickoff.
These are all players with all-conference ability, and if they get back to the peak of their physical powers, could become All-Americans.
In all, seven SEC players who have been on the major mend made our national All-Comeback Team. They all have all-conference ability ... although you might have to stretch your memory to recall how good Florida center Zac Zedalis is. He has missed two seasons because of knee problems. We'll name him team captain.
To be considered for our All-Comeback Team, players really had to suffer, missing at least eight games, essentially qualifying for an injury-redshirt season.
