Maryland Offense vs. Florida St. Defense The 'Noles will be playing their first game at Doak Campbell Stadium since having their 37-game home winning streak ended by Miami two weeks ago. Florida State hasn't lost two games at Doak Campbell in the same season since 1984, and has never lost to Maryland anywhere, going 11-0. Maryland has had its problems with the kicking game, but Nick Novak came up big when he needed to, nailing a career-long 46-yarder to send the Georgia Tech game into overtime, and then beating the Jackets with a 23-yarder in the extra period. He wasn't needed last week in the rout of Duke, but will likely have to step up again against the 'Noles. FSU freshman Craphonso Thorpe is becoming more comfortable returning kicks and appears may be a difference-maker in this game in that capacity. Thorpe nearly broke one against Virginia, notching a career-long 38-yard return. The Terps have already surrendered a kickoff return for a touchdown (a 100-yarder to West Virginia's Shawn Terry) and could be prone to another. The Edge: Florida State
