John Cook
Cook's record-setting performance at the FedEx St. Jude Classic was
made all the more sweet as it came on the heels of one of his poorest
playing stretches as a professional. Cook set 36 and 54-hole scoring
records that weekend and missed the 72-hole record by one. The Ohio
State star was a three-time All-American and a member of the 1979 NCAA
Championship team. Cook was the U.S. Amateur champion in 1978.
