Vijay Singh

It was a bad news/wonderful news season for Singh in 1998. Singh's record of cuts made came to an end at the Masters with 53 in a row. That was the bad news. The wonderful news was Singh picking up his first major at the PGA Championship at Sahalee. The winner of numerous PGA Tour and International titles had long been regarded as one of the best players in the world without a major title. That epithet would come to an end on Sahalee's tree-lined fairways. Singh is also known as one of the most diligent practicers. That practice paid off in spades at the PGA.
