Tom Watson
Watson is one of golf's greatest living players. He is a ball-striking machine who ruled the golf world with Jack Nicklaus for a time. Their rivalry fueled drama after drama, perhaps most memorably so at the 1982 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach where Watson's amazing chip from the long rough surrounding the 17th green fell in for birdie. The winner of five Open Championships and the captain of two Ryder Cup teams, he won at least three tournaments per season from 1977 to 1982. Watson won the first of his two Masters titles in 1977. In 1980, he won six PGA Tour titles and an Open Championship. Watson owns three Vardon Trophies and was a six-time PGA of America Player of the year.
