Suns re-sign Robinson to multiyear deal

Clifford Robinson
was re-signed to a multiyear contract Sunday night by the Phoenix Suns.

Terms of the deal were not immediately released.

Robinson had one-year deals with the Suns in 1997-98 and last season after playing the first eight seasons of his NBA career with Portland.

Last year, Robinson ranked in the top 30 in five different statistical categories.

He finished eighth in 3-point goal percentage with a career-high 42 percent and also had a career-high 1.50 steals per game, which ranked 28th in the league.

Robinson also had 1.18 blocks per game (25th in the league), ranked 29th in scoring at 16.4 points per game and 29th in field-goal percentage at 47 percent.

"Cliff has given us two great years and has earned this new deal," Suns general manager Bryan Colangelo said.
