Hurricane Floyd, nearly a Category 5 storm, is threatening the southeast coast of the United States, but officials say No. 8 Miami's game against No. 2 Penn State at the Orange Bowl is still on for Saturday.

Miami's sports information director for football, Phil de Montmollin, told SportsLine that, as of Monday, the game was not being postponed.

It's also business as usual for Penn State, according to an assistant in the sports information office. The Nittany Lions haven't received word from Miami regarding possible cancellation of Saturday's game and it's been a typical week of practice in Happy Valley.

Last season Hurricane Georges forced a cancellation of Miami's game with then-No. 3 UCLA. The game was originally set for September 28, but had to be rescheduled for Dec. 5. The Hurricanes ruined UCLA national championship hopes with a 49-45 victory.

The latest forecast had Floyd skirting the Florida coast by Tuesday morning. A hurricane warning has been posted along the Southeast coast from just south of Brunswick, Ga., to Florida City, Fla., south of Miami. An evacuation notice has been issued for parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
