MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Democrat Al Gore and Republican George Bush found themselves rooting for the same team on Superbowl Sunday, the Tennessee Titans once known as the Houston Oilers, but they were definitely not on the same side.

"You know, I hope the Houston Oilers win the Superbowl," Texas Governor Bush told reporters with a smile.

"If he's rooting for the Houston Oilers, that's typical of living in the past," jibed Vice President Gore as he took in the game at Martha's Exchange, a crowded bar in Nashua. "I'm rooting for the Tennessee Titans."

The two men, likely opponents in the Nov. 7 presidential election, took in the game in New Hampshire, where they were campaigning ahead of Tuesday's first in the nation primary.

The Oilers, who left Texas after the 1996 season after more than three decades in Houston, played on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams -- themselves recent transplants from Los Angeles.
