Vaughn Booker
of the Green Bay Packers and Jay Williams from the St. Louis Rams, reached agreements with new teams.

SportsLine has learned that Booker, a six-year veteran who played the last two campaigns with the Packers, will sign a five-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. Terms of the contract were not immediately available. Williams, who played his entire five-year career with the Rams, will sign a three-year, $4.5 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. The contract includes a signing bonus of $1 million.

Booker, 31, is a Cincinnati native who played at that city's Taft High School. He began his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 1994 after a two-year stint in the CFL. After four years with the Chiefs, he was traded to the Packers in 1998. In six years, he has 13½ sacks, including 3½ for the Packers in '99.

The 28-year-old Williams was signed by the Rams in '94 as an undrafted free agent and spent his first two years primarily on the practice squad. In five seasons, he had six sacks and appeared in 57 games -- with three starts -- for the Rams.
