Cesario, a third-round pick in the 1999 draft out of Colorado State, was stopped by police for driving 71 mph in a 45 mph zone Wednesday, according to a police report.

After failing the sobriety test, Cesario was charged with DUI and speeding.

"I'm very disappointed in Anthony and very disappointed in Anthony's behavior," Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin said. "I'm very upset that this occurred. But I'm thankful there were no other vehicles or people involved.

"We've had extension discussions with Anthony and are in the process of gathering all the information. We will make sure that Anthony understands the seriousness of his mistake."

Cesario was inactive for all 16 games last season, but Coughlin had said last week that he expected him to compete for a starting job this season.
