HONG KONG -- Mohammed Salem Al Enazi hit a
hat-trick as Qatar hammered Malaysia 5-1 in the World Cup Asian
zone group three qualifying tournament on Sunday.
The Palestinians and Hong Kong drew 1-1 in the day's other
game which was overshadowed by the sending off of Emad Ayoub El
Kair and Jon Moore three minutes from time.
The pair were dismissed following a tackle from behind by
Hong Kong's English-born striker Moore, who was sent off for the
offnce in the 87th minute, while El Kair received his second
yellow card of the day for reacting to the challenge.
Hong Kong coach Arie van der Zounen was more upset at losing
Moore's services for the game against Malaysia on Thursday than
drawing with the Palestinians.
"I was unhappy with Moore's sending off," said the Dutchman.
"It was a bigger blow for us that losing the two points. I'm not
sure what actually happened. We will have to wait for the
referee's report."
A decision will be made before the next round of matches but
it seems certain both Moore and El Kair will miss their team's
respective clashes with Malaysia and Qatar.
The Qataris go into the second round of games at the top of
the standings after routing a Malaysian side handicapped by the
loss of Zainal Kharul six minutes into the second half.
in the 10th and 37th minutes to cancel out Talib Rosdi's ninth
