Wanchope's double leads Costa Rica past T&T

SAN JOSE -- Substitute Paulo Wanchope scored twice as Costa Rica overcame Trinidad 3-0 in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifying match on Wednesday.

Steven Bryce put the home team ahead in the first minute of the second half.

Wanchope, who plays for English premier league club Manchester City, replaced Hernan Medford in the 60th minute and secured victory for Costa Rica with two goals in the last 10 minutes.

Costa Rica are now second in the final round of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tournament. They have four points from two games, both played at home.

Trinidad, who fielded Manchester United's Dwight Yorke in attack, have no points from two games and have yet to score a goal.
