DAKAR -- Senegal stayed top of group three of the African zone World Cup qualifiers on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Algeria thanks to a hat trick from El Hadj Diouf.

The win gives Senegal nine points and puts them ahead on goal difference from Morocco who beat Namibia 3-0.

Egypt have six points and a game in hand, while Namibia are bottom of the group with two points.

Diouf, who plays for French club Lens, put the home side ahead with a penalty in the second minute after he was fouled.

But he had to wait until after halftime for his second before grabbing his hat trick in the 75th minute.

The win was Senegal's first in its last 14 meetings with Algeria, which has included eight defeats and five draws.
