JAKARTA -- Indonesia bagged an easy 6-0
victory over Cambodia in an Asian World Cup group nine qualifier
on Sunday as they warmed up for next month's testing match
against China.
Cambodian defender Samel Nasa opened the scoring when he
headed the ball into his own net after 26 minutes before
Indonesia midfielder Uston Nawawi grabbed a hat-trick.
Defender Aples Tecuari's header and a nice strike from star
forward Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto sealed Indonesia's triumph.
The victory sent Indonesia to the top of the group standings
with a maximum six points from two matches. China is expected to
crush Maldives, who lost 5-0 to Indonesia, in Sunday's later
group match.
China, the group favourites, beat Indonesia 5-0 in their
last meeting at the 2000 Asian Cup. The two sides are due to
play in Beijing on May 13.
