NEW YORK -- Tampa Bay Mutiny forward Mamadou Diallo was
selected as the MLS Player of the Week for the period ending
Sunday after scoring four goals in a game.
Diallo scored Tampa Bay's lone goal in a 2-1 loss at Colorado
before striking for four goals in a 4-4 draw against the Los
Angeles Galaxy on Saturday.
The 29-year-old Senegalese striker had a first-half natural hat
trick in minutes 15, 16 and 37 before completing his four-goal
game with 12 minutes left.
Diallo, the MVP of last year's All-Star Game, became the fifth
player in league history to score three or more goals in a
match. He is second in scoring with six goals and two assists
after seven matches.
