TASHKENT, Uzbekistan -- Uzbekistan beat Qatar 2-1 in an Asian World Cup qualifier Sunday. Jafar Irismetov gave Uzbekistan the lead in the 36th minute, scoring from a goalmouth scramble following a corner kick, and Mirjalol Kasymov scored off a free kick in the 50th. Jassem Al-Tamimi got Qatar's goal in the 88th. China (1-0), the United Arab Emirates (1-1) and Uzbekistan (1-1) all have three points, while Oman (0-0-1) and Qatar (0-1-1) have one each. The Group B winner qualifies for the World Cup, and the second-place team advances to playoffs for another berth.
