Idaho Vandals

SportsLine/Lindy's reports
Nov. 12, 1999

The faces have changed, but the expectations of coach Dave Farrar remain high.

Fast facts
Coach: David Farrar -- At Idaho: 31-23, 2 years; Overall: 92-96, 7 years.

1998-99 Record: 16-11 Overall; 11-5 Big West (3rd East)

Honors candidates: Gordon Scott, Devon Ford

Only two starters return from last year's 16-11 team, and this year's success hinges on how quickly Farrar can blend the talent of five newcomers and two key redshirts.

Shooting guard Gordon Scott has the potential to take over a game, but was plagued by inconsistency in 1998-99. Enough raw talent should have the Vandals contending in the East by season's end.

Keep an eye on

Kaniel Dickens, a tremendously athletic junior who, with a 6-8 frame and soft shooting touch, can be a presence inside and out.
