Long Beach State 49ers

SportsLine/Lindy's reports
Nov. 12, 1999

Long Beach State should have The Pyramid rocking with the return of five starters led by Ramel "Rock" Lloyd and Mate Milisa.

Fast facts
Coach: Wayne Morgan -- At Long Beach State and Overall: 36-48, 3 years

1998-99 Record: 13-15 Overall; 9-7 Big West (Tie/2nd West)

Honors candidates: Ramel "Rock" Lloyd and Mate Milisa

The 49ers should be among the favorites in the West, especially if senior guard D'Cean Bryant can finish his summer course work and earn a final season.

Lloyd is one of the conference's most exciting players, while Milisa burst onto the scene in 1998-99, starting all 26 games and averaging 13.9 points and a team-high 5.6 rebounds.

Keep an eye on

Lloyd lived up to his nickname last season, leading the 49ers in scoring, and minutes played and surpassed the 30-point barrier three times.
