SportsLine/Lindy's reports
Nov. 12, 1999

It looks to be a long year for new coach Trent Johnson, who inherits a team that struggled last season and returns just one starter, senior guard Tommy Zapata.

Fast facts
Coach: Trent Johnson - At Nevada and Overall: First year years

1998-99 Record: 8-18 Overall, 4-12 Big West (Tie/5th East)

Honors candidate: Tommy Zapata

All the other starters left the team for various reasons. The latest hit occurred when center Dimitrios Marmarinos signed a contract with a professional team overseas.

Only four players return, with 6-5 senior forward Calvin Criddle providing the most promise. Unless Johnson and his staff can pull off a minor miracle, the Wolf Pack figure to settle at the bottom of the East Division.

Keep an eye on

Flashy freshman guard Terrance Green, the nephew of Dallas Mavericks forward A.C. Green.
