KEY RECRUITS AND TRANSFERS: The Blue Devils put together a magnificent group of recruits. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski landed six -- count them, six -- blue-chip stars who should keep Duke fans swimming in victories.

Power forward Shelden Williams, the No. 1-ranked player in the nation at that position, leads the way. He checks in at 6-9 and 230 pounds and should be a major factor in the paint. Shooting guard J.J. Redick averaged 24 points per game as a high school star in Roanoke, Va. Power forward Shavlik Randolph averaged 26 ppg for Raleigh (N.C.) Broughton High School.

Krzyzewski will get help at center from 6-foot-10 Michael Thompson. Chicago's Sean Dockery will complement returning starter Chris Duhon at point guard. Dockery averaged 21 ppg at Julian High School and has masterful skills. Small forward Lee Melchionni is a 6-foot-6 slasher who will be able to add weight and strength to his 190-pound frame.
