The White Sox were 17-8 last April, scoring a major league record 181 runs and setting franchise marks for wins and home runs.

Well, they're gonna have to pick up the pace to come anywhere close to those kind of numbers this April.

The White Sox, after being swept by the Tigers earlier this month, were swept by the Twins this past weekend in Minneapolis.

Chicago (4-7) gets another shot at the Tigers this week. After an off day, the White Sox and Tigers begin a three-game series in Detroit on Tuesday. The Sox will get another shot at the Twins, hosting the AL Central leaders in a three-game series starting Friday.

Minnesota's pitchers dominated the White Sox over the weekend as the Twins (9-2) extended their winning streak to six games.

"It's disappointing," Sox manager Jerry Manuel told reporters after Sunday's 4-2 loss. "They (Minnesota) played extremely well this whole series. We had some chances today, but couldn't get it done.

"We battled, but for the most part, they outplayed us. They'll eventually have to come to Comiskey."

Twins' starter Eric Milton (2-0) struck out five of the first six batters he faced, and ended with 10 strikeouts. He allowed just two hits and didn't walk a batter in seven innings.

Frank Thomas hit his fourth homer for the White Sox, who have lost three straight for the second time this season. Last year, the Central Division champions, had only four losing streaks of three-or-more games.

"Last year is over," Thomas said. "This is a new team and a new season.

"But, you always have to worry when you're not playing well, whether its early in the season or not. All of us need to be concerned."
