The Oscar De La Hoya E-mail the Pros Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C. only, who are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their state of residence, whichever is greater, and shall be construed and evaluated according to U.S. law only. 1. How to Register/Enter:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. You must be a member of SportsLine Member with a valid ID and Password in order to enter. SportsLine members are eligible for the random drawing to win the Grand Prize by e-mailing one (1) question to Oscar De La Hoya by going to the following page: http://www.sportsline.com/u/rewards/celebemail1.htm
All Questions must be submitted from Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 3:00:01 p.m. ET through Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at 3:00:00 p.m. ET. No mechanically reproduced entries permitted. All entries become the property of SportsLine.com and will not be returned. Limit: One entry per person, household and e-mail address.
2. Sweepstakes Period:
Starts Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 3:00:01 p.m. ET through May 6, 2003 at 3:00:00 p.m. ET ("Sweepstakes Period"). All entries must be received by 3:00:00 p.m. (ET) on May 6, 2003.
3. Eligibility:
To be eligible to win the Grand prize in the Sweepstakes, you must be 18 years of age of older (if the age of majority is older than 18, you must be of the age of majority within your jurisdiction to be eligible to win a prize) and be a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Void in Puerto Rico and all other US territories and possessions and where prohibited by law. Employees and consultants of SportsLine.com, Inc., CBS Broadcasting, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, the "Sweepstakes Entities"), and members of the immediate families of each (immediate family is defined as parent, sibling or any person residing in the same household as employee or consultant) are not eligible to participate in this Sweepstakes. Limit one entry per person, household, and e-mail address.
4. Drawing and Notification:
Grand prize winner will be selected from all eligible entries received in a random drawing held on or around May 7, 2003 by SportsLine.com, Inc., whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The potential winner will be notified by telephone and e-mail. If the potential winner cannot be confirmed within 10 days, at the telephone number and e-mail address provided, then an alternate potential winner may be selected.
5. Grand Prize:
One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive:
One (1) boxing glove signed by Oscar De La Hoya and Yory Boy Campas (Approximate Retail Value $200.00)
Total Approximate Retail Value of Grand Prize US $200.00.
Taxes and all other expenses not identified as included in the prize are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Prize may not be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash except at SportsLine.com's sole discretion due to prize unavailability, and then only for a prize of equal or greater value.
6. General:
Grand prize winner may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, where legally permissible, a Publicity Release ("Affidavit/Release"). Affidavit/Release must be signed and returned within 10 days of winner's receipt of the documents via certified mail. Failure by winner to execute documents or if winner is found to be ineligible, or does not comply with the Official Rules, he/she will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. If Affidavit/Release is returned as undeliverable, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. All federal, state or other tax liabilities arising from this Sweepstakes will be the sole responsibility of Grand Prize Winner. Except where prohibited by law, the winner's entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the Sweepstakes Entities to use said winner's name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice, and address (city and state) worldwide and in all forms of media, in perpetuity, without further compensation. By entering, participants release and hold harmless SportsLine.com, Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Sweepstakes or any prize won. SportsLine.com, Inc. in its sole discretion, may disqualify any Member or entrant from participation in the use of any or all portions of this Web site, and refuse to award the prize, if Member or entrant engages in any conduct SportsLine.com, Inc. deems to be improper, unfair or otherwise adverse to the operation of the Web site or detrimental to other Members or entrants of the Web site. Such improper conduct, includes, but is not limited to, falsifying personal information required during Member registration or prize claim, violating any term or condition stated herein, accumulating entries through methods such as automated computer scripts or any other programming techniques, allowing others to use Member's or entrant personal information for the purpose of accumulating entries, or intentionally trying to defraud, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise tamper with the computer programs on this Web site. Member or entrant agrees that SportsLine.com, Inc. may void any prize that Member or entrant may have won and/or require the return of any prize that Member or entrant may have won as a result of such improper conduct. Member or entrant further acknowledges that the forfeiture of prize(s) and/or return of any prize(s) shall in no way prevent SportsLine.com, Inc. from pursuing other avenues of recourse such as criminal or civil proceedings in connection with such conduct. In addition, SportsLine.com, Inc. also reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the promotion process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion in the event the fairness or integrity of the promotion is compromised. In the event of cancellation/termination, winner will be selected from among all eligible entries as of the cancellation/termination date. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Sweepstakes will be ineligible for prize and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
7. Sweepstakes Conditions:
This Sweepstakes is subject to these Official Rules. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules. Winner and entrants agree that the Sweepstakes Entities shall not be responsible or liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes including, but not limited to, the acceptance/possession and/or use/misuse of any prize and/or any injury or damage to entrant's or third person's property related to or resulting from any prize or any part of this Sweepstakes. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Sweepstakes will be ineligible for prize(s) and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
8. Limitations of Liability:
Sweepstakes Entities are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrectly addressed, incomplete, illegible, undeliverable, destroyed, or online entries resulting from any hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete or garbled computer or telephone transmissions, typographical or system errors and failures or faulty transmissions or for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, or entry not received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, or at a Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from entering the Sweepstakes or downloading any material for the Sweepstakes, or other telecommunications malfunctions which may limit an entrant's ability to participate. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Sponsor representatives. If, for any reason, this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond the control of Sweepstakes Entities which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sweepstakes Entities reserve the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes (see rule 6). CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
