Led NL third basemen in assists for the seventh time, tying the league record held by Ron Santo

Batted .287 in July, .389 with 17 RBI vs Reds and .385 vs Astros

Hit .467 in the NLCS vs Dodgers and hit his first LCS home run

Underwent arthroscopic surgery on right knee on March 7 for removal of fluid, loose bodies, and softened cartilage

Suffered a sprain fracture of his right thumb on June 11, but missed just one game (did pinch run)
