Bleacher Features -- Topic 13: Roto Rooters
CBS SportsLine Fantasy Baseball 1998 Cameron Akers has a dream job -- he works at a sports desk so he can check the late boxes.
I awake in the morning (or early afternoon, I work nights) and tend to my
morning absolutions. After that, I enter my living room and sit down at my
computer. Soon after, I am a single-minded monster.
This is my first year as a Fantasy baseball manager, and I'm hooked. Last
place in my league? Big deal! I'm having fun.
Anyway, I dial in to my ISP, and commence to reading about what the members
of my team have done. David "The Man, The Myth, The Legend" Dellucci again keeps my team above the Mendoza Line (20 points) -- It was a good night.
I then go to the Advance Scout, to see what the day will bring. Kirk "Cy Young" Rueter is pitching. Good, perhaps I'll get a win.
After wandering about aimlessly for awhile, I then get ready to go to
work. I work at a newspaper sports desk. Lovely job -- I get the box scores
and news as soon as possible.
After putting in my time, I come home and dial in again -- this time to catch late boxes, and check out the Fight For Jobs to see if anyone on my team is rumored to be traded. Ah, I see that Andruw Jones is still in the doghouse. No matter, he'll do better tomorrow.
It's off to bed, and the routine starts anew in the morrow.
