This instructional covers the proper set-up for putting.

First, make sure your eyes are on the line where you are aiming.

Make sure you stand in a way that you are comfortable. You don't want to physically hurt yourself standing in an awkward way.

Finally, align your shoulders as close as you possibly can with the intended starting line.

The rest is up to your stroke.
