In diving, athletes jump off a diving board and land in the pool.
The high board, called the platform, is 32 feet above the water.
The low board, called the springboard, is 10 feet above the water.
While the divers are in the air, they twist, tumble and turn.
A panel of seven judges give the divers up to 10 points.
The divers get the most points for doing harder tumbles and turns.
When the divers land in the pool, they should not make a splash.
At the Olympics Games in Sydney, there will be a new diving event called synchronized diving.
Two divers do the same dives at the same time in synchronized diving.
There will be nine judges for synchronized diving.
