LONG JUMP
Long Jump

In the long jump, the athlete takes a big run and jumps into a sandpit.

The athlete crouches, leans forward, swings their arms backwards, the jumps horizontally as far as possible, jumping with both feet into the sandpit.

A board at the end of the runway marks where the long-jumpers must take off.

The jumper may not pass the end of the board before jumping.

The length of a long jump is measured from the end of the board to the closest mark in the sand.

The athlete with the longest jump wins the gold medal.

Athletes who perform the long jump usually have great leg strength.
