SAILING
Sailing

In sailing, people race each other in boats with sails.

When wind fills the sails, the boats move faster through the water.

Some sailboats are very big and need a team to race them.

The smallest sailboat in the Olympic Games is the sailboard. A sailboard is like a surfboard with a sail.

Sailors compete in more than one race at the Olympic Games. The sailor who does the best out of many races wins the gold medal.

Some sailing races at the Olympic Games will be in Sydney Harbour.

People can watch the races from boats in the water or on the harbour.
