Shooting has been in the Olympic Games since 1932.
The competiton has changed over the years because guns have changed.
Shooting events are in four different groups:
Shotgun (trap) - people shoot at clay targets flying in different directions
Rifle - people shoot at targets 11 yards, 27 yards and 55 yards away
Pistol - same as rifle using a different gun; the bullseye looks about the size of the period after this sentence.
Running target - people shoot at a moving target from 33 feet away as it crosses a 7 foot opening.
Competitors need a steady hand and good eye to aim at the target.
