VOLLEYBALL
Volleyball

There are two forms of volleyball in the Olympics--indoor and beach.

Indoor Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport.

It is played inside on a volleyball court.

Six athletes play on each team.

They must hit the ball over a net and land it in the other team's court.

They may hit the ball with their hands or forearms.

They can hit the ball to each other before hitting it over the net.

Volleyball is a very fast and exciting sport.

The 2000 Olympics offer many rule changes for indoor volleyball intending to make the matches harder.

Beach Volleyball

There are only two players on a beach-volleyball team.

The game is played outside on the sand at the beach.

At the Sydney Olympic Games, beach volleyball will be played on Bondi Beach.
